'Fisher' | pencil, watercolor, white gel pen | 5x7 | NOT AVAILABLE
I see a lot more watercolor practice in my future. I've twenty-nine more of these watercolor postcards to use up. They're 5x7, which is a nice size - I can do one in a few hours. Maybe I'll try to complete one a week. That sounds like a good goal.
I'm hoping practicing with the watercolors will help ease me into working with acrylics. There's so much that I want to do but anxiety keeps getting in the way. Damn anxiety, quit throwing off my groove. I'm trying to work here.

Really nice job, Darc! I started listing the things "I really like" and the list just got longer and longgerr... :-) Love all the shades you put into the sand, water, legs, etc., etc.
...course; -I- would've drawn her perched on a rock and holding a fishing pole. ;-) :-) :-) (I haven't nearly as much imagination as you have!) :-)
You know...puffins only have the orange bill and bright white feathers during mating season; the bill falls off and the feathers fade when they are out at sea. That adds a whole different level to the image. Just saying.
All jokes aside, absolutely amazing work with the watercolor, especially the sky and the mountains. It adds an incredible texture to the piece.
@Iron Ed: Thank you! *blush*
These Reeves watercolors are nice and bright. I barely used any paint, just a little dab of each color, and it just lasted and lasted. I ended up rinsing some down the sink because I couldn't get it back into the tubes - my little tin pallet doesn't have a cover.
@Tyler: "Hey baby... wanna go fishin'?" The puffin equivalent to rabbits trading multiplication tables. ;D
Thank you! I tried using a lot of water on the sky to get some variation in color. You're suppose to be able to lift color out, but I'm not sure how just yet.
