We're moving! In three weeks!

Yep, you read it right. Matt and I are leaving Massachusetts for the wild and wet shores of Connecticut!

Matt's just been offered a job out of state, which means we'll be moving! In about three weeks! Which means, we've three weeks to pack, clean, put the house on the market, and look for a new home!

Matt's new job begins November 13th, so we need to be out of this house and out of the state by then. Our current home is around 1,000 square feet, not counting the basement and the shed, and has a lot of stuff in it. In other words, I'll be spending the next few weeks running around packing and cleaning while Matt's finishing up his time at his current job. Not to mention all the other aspects of moving that need to be done. Which reminds me, I need to cancel my dentist appointment that's coming up. Busy, but exciting! *squeeee*

All of this means that I'll need to put all art - both Iron Artist commissions and comic pages - on hold until we're at least moved and somewhat settled in. In other words, for the next month.

Unfortunately, this means Friday's CN:H page will be the last for a bit. Before anyone complains, please remember that CN:H is no longer my job, it's a hobby. A gift. This move is in the best interest of my family. I hope you can understand and accept the slight delay. I'm not asking for guest comics or donations, just a little understanding.

I'll try to keep everyone up to date through the blog - at least until we need to pack the computer and return the Verizon box. After that, it might be a little harder.

CN:H will resume updates on the 19th of November. Thank you for understanding and sorry again for the downtime. Look out, Connecticut! We're coming for you!

Oh god, I HATE moving! I moved into my house 6 years ago and swore never again, even though the move went smoothly. Best of luck, Darcy!

My favorite thing about moving is - well since you're sorting and packing anyhow - that means you can oftentimes get rid of excess "stuff" that you just never got around to going through. Last time we had a big move, I had a huge pile o' stuff that I had the salvation army come pick up for me. :) [and I live in an apartment, I can't even imagine the type of stuff you have in a house! o.o]

Good luck with the move. I've never been to Connecticut, but it sure sounds like you're excited so that's a good thing! ^.^

Congrats to Matt on the new job! Hopefully the weather in Connecticut will be better for your health. I know what it's like to pack in a hurry so no worries about you not being able to do anything on the 'net. Besides, three weeks will simply fly by.

Here's to having a good agent to sell the house, a wonderful new house to move to, nothing broken in the move, and an enjoyable trip for the actual move.

Aside from the gas prices, we're pretty happy in CT. And finally, a local comic artist, whoo!

Good luck on your move and the new job!

Thanks guys! Things are going well so far. We've a few more days of packing and sprucing up ahead before we bring a realtor in to start the whole selling process. That's the part I'm a little worried about. We've a few houses in Norwalk that we're interested in, but we can't do anything until our house sells. Hopefully a good price will help it move quickly. :D
