Sketchbook - Witches and spells

Hey look, a few random rough sketches! Like I said earlier, I've got Halloween on the brain. I like this first one of witchy Ruby, but it needs some work anatomy-wise. The legs especially seem off to me.

Not that the anatomy in this one is much better. Some days stuff comes out a little awkward. I'll try again later.

A yes, Halloween is coming up. I'll have to break out my favorite Halloween type movies, Dracula Dead and Loving It and Army of Darkness. The art looks fantastic, Darc.

Nice work, Darc! I like the Ruby pic best. The Gadel pic also looks very good, but does not say anything about Thanksgiving.

As far as anything being wrong, I suspect her mild attitude.

Okay; it's daytime now. Maybe I can make more sense... ;-)

1) I should have said "Hallowe'en" not "Thanksgiving!" :-)

2) You mentioned Ruby's legs looking "off," the only thing I can see is that her right leg may be turned in a bit more than would be natural or comfortable for her. I was going to say something about big shoes too and then remembered that these characters styles do have big toes to go into those shoes. :-)

3) Left hand looks like it's missing a finger? This is just my opinion of course. There appears to be a slight bump where the 3rd finger should be, but I think that finger should be more visible.

4) I wonder how that little punkin' between Ruby's feet would look with an almost-face hidden in the shading... :-)

I do like the vines, leaves and stars.

@Hex: Thanks! I hope it'll be a fun image for everyone. :D

@Tyler: Ah, I haven't seen 'Dracula Dead and Loving It' in years! I need to find a copy and watch it again. That and 'Hocus Pocus'. Thanks, Tyler! :D

@Iron Ed: Thanks. I agree, the right has a little too much pivot to it. I think the left may not be long enough as well. It's like her left foot should be placed a little more forward than the right.

*laughs* Those pumpkins! They can't be trusted around fingers. Always snapping them off. :D

That little pumpkin would be all, "I've got the best view in the house!" :D

@Darc OH! Hocus Pocus, I haven't seen that in a while. I also got my Young Frankenstein disc out.
