Sketchbook - Old tree

Matt and I were sitting outside, waiting for the rain to start. I still needed to do today's sketchbook, so I tried drawing the old tree on the side of the house. Just a quick, messy sketch. I wanted to finish up before the rain arrived.

That is a nice, believable tree. :-)

Thanks. It's an impressively large one. Has to be over 100 years old. Unfortunately, it's infested with carpenter ants and loses at least one large limb each winter. :(

Humongous old oak tree in the yard behind mine went down last night, at almost -exactly- midnight. (Within two minutes; I didn't think to check the clock immediately.) I need to get camera batteries! Was a huge triple-trunked tree and it looked like someone took a giant ax and split the three sections apart down to the roots.

Damn! That must have been some wind to knock that down. O.O;
