Sketchbook - Dogs and cats

Hey guys. Sorry for the quiet yesterday. Things came up. In fact, due to things coming up, I'll be dropping the practice schedule for the time being. While improvement is very important to me, I have a few other obligations to see to right now, including making sure there are enough CN:H comics in the hopper just in case. As a result, the daily schedule will have to take a back seat.

I'll try to have something new each day, but I'm not going to stick to any specific medium or time. It'll just be whatever I can find time for that day.

No worries... if things play out the result will be good. I will be keeping the Tips and Terms thing for Wednesdays though. I really like that idea and while the posts may take a bit to write, I hope they'll be helpful. I'll also keep the weekends for lesson work, though probably just the Kubert course. I've been reading thought the lessons and am finding the Drawspace work to be a little too basic for my needs. *blush* It's a good set of lessons, I've just got twenty-plus years of learning on my own down already and that seems to be what the Drawspace lessons are covering. I can't help it, I've read a lot of how-to art books over the years.

Now, on to the sketchbook. These were the pages from Friday and today. Just some doodles of cats and a corgi.

Sorry again for yet another change of plans. Thanks guys!

Very nice poses and 'expressions' here. I particularly like the two at top-center, the smirk at low-right and the scaredy cat just below center.

If you take away the string, the cat at low-left reminds me of when one of mine got over-enthusiastic climbing his floor-to-ceiling scratching post. He pushed to hard near the top and fell off! :-o :-)

Corgi has a very nice, doggy expression.

Love the expression of the corgi - there's some kind of wisdom in his eyes...
Don't worry about not being able to stick to the schedules - sometimes schedules need to be changed! And I am glad that you will keep up your Wednesday post about tips. However I am looking forward to all your posts!

@Iron Ed: Thanks. Cat's are great to draw. They're so flexible. I'm always shocked at some of the poses Tiny sleeps in. I swear, it looks like his spine has snapped.

@Ulla: Thank you. Matt and I aren't sure what's going to happen just yet, which is the annoying bit. I'm hoping for good news. :D
