CN:H liquidation sale!

edit 8/21: The Prologue trades as well as issues 13 and 14 are now SOLD OUT. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hey guys. This has been a rough weekend. What I'm about to write is hard for me to admit, but it's long past time that I did. So, let's put on the big girl panties and do this...

'Code Name: Hunter' will no longer be going to print. Despite how much Matt and I love the comic, we have to admit that CN:H is just not salable in today's market. We've sunk so much time, effort, and funds into trying to make it work and we just can't afford to do so any longer. It's time to put the income generating energy into other avenues - for me that means commissions.

But hey, you can cash in on our hard luck! All remaining CN:H stock is being liquidated in an effort to raise funds for other projects. Single issues are now $1 while the Prologue trade is $15 (originally $20), the Volume I trade is $5 (originally $17.95), and the Volume II trade is now $10 (originally $15). Once these books are gone, that's it. They will not be reprinted.

As to what this means for CN:H itself, the comic will continue on the web. We're removing all commercial aspects of the comic to make it very clear to everyone that this is now a hobby. Even the Project Wonderful ad will be removed in the coming weeks.

For those of you who've supported CN:H and genuinely enjoy what I do... thank you. It's for your benefit - as well as my own - that I'm keeping CN:H going on the web. Since printing is no longer a concern, I'll be doing the clean sketched pages at a much smaller size. This will allow me to complete the CN:H updates as well as a few commissions a week. I appreciate your support over the years and I hope you'll keep reading CN:H. We're not dead. We're just adjusting to the economy and doing what's responsible. Unfortunately, the responsible choice is not always the fun one.

So, what's in the future? Well, I'll be taking the month of September off from the net to focus on work. I need a little downtime to recharge my mental batteries and relax. Commissions will reopen in October. The Secret Project has been canceled. And Matt and myself will still be attending Midwest Furfest (unless something catastrophic happens in the next few months). I think that's enough planning for the moment.

Thanks for sticking with us and sorry about all of this. We've done the best we could. In the 1990s, during the height of indy comics, we could have made this work. But in today's market I just can't compete. Sometimes your best isn't good enough.

I may have failed, but I also tried. That's more than most people will ever do.
